Symphony No3 in A minor "Scottish" - Felix Mendelssohn

National Youth Orchestra of Scotland performing classical music symphony No 3 in A minor.

Inspired by a visit to Scotland in 1829, its inspired melding of scenes of great dramatic intensity, cheerful dance-like elements based on Scottish folk music, and beautiful themes have made it a staple of the orchestral repertoire.

Recorded by Camerata Scotland in Greyfriars Kirk, Edinburgh on 8th - 10th April 1997.

Conductor: Wiiliam Conway
Producer: Andrew Keener

Featuring four movements:

Andante con moto - Allegro un poco agitato
Vivace non troppo
Adagio
Allegro vivacissimo - Allegro maestoso assai
