Traditional Dance Projects

Scotland has a rich heritage of traditional dance forms and through this fund we aim to encourage interest and participation in these. We wish to respond to initiatives that will provide imaginative approaches to promoting and engaging people in traditional dance. We are interested in a wide range of approaches which could include training, performances, collaborations and research.

Level of grants: £5,000 - no fixed maximum

Organisations may also be eligible to apply for
Funding Across Artforms or our Capital Grants for Buildings and Equipment.

Please note:
The Scottish Arts Council will not normally fund productions through project funding that are programmed to appear at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival or Edinburgh International Festival only.  Tours which include these festivals are eligible but the festival appearances must be part of a larger Scottish tour, the majority of performances must happen outside of the festivals.
