The fund has been established to enable:

  • an organisation to be directly involved in creating/supporting the production and/or public presentation of the work of artists and creative practitioners
  • an organisation to offer a range of services, support and advice to other arts and creative organisations, enabling these to best deliver and develop their programming and business objectives

Capital Grants Scheme 2009/10

The aim of the fund is to help create opportunities for people to participate in the arts across Scotland by investing in new equipment and improving arts facilities.

Cultural Diversity

The aim of this fund is to develop, support and sustain a more diverse infrastructure in the arts in Scotland, particularly in the context of a growing multiracial society and a changing economic and social climate.  Funds are available in 2009/10 to support new ideas and proposals that address attendance and participation in the arts by minority ethnic members of our society.

Level of grants: £10,000 - £25,000 typical maximum

Unlimited

Celebrating Arts, Culture and Sport by Disabled and Deaf People

Unlimited is a new UK-wide disability arts commissioning fund being run as part of the London 2012 Cultural Olympiad.

• The process of applying is being operated by Arts Council England on behalf of the other Arts Councils – however this is a UK-wide fund and all of the arts councils are involved in the decision-making process.

• This fund is to commission new work that is artistically led by disabled people.

• Applications for projects of between £25,000 and £50,000 are being actively encouraged.

Applications are through Arts Council England’s ‘Grants for the arts’ system – this is an online process. To find out more about the fund please visit the Arts Council England website.

Organisational and Audience Development

The purpose of the fund is to support arts organisations in improving their overall effectiveness. Applications are invited for financial support towards the cost of a range of activity aimed at improving an organisation’s ability to meet its objectives in three key areas:

  • artistic leadership
  • public engagement
  • governance, finance and management

Level of grants: £5,000 - £30,000

The partners programme aims to provide opportunities for high quality participation in the arts for hard to reach groups, through artist(s) / arts organisation(s) residencies across Scotland.   The purpose of the partners programme is:

  • to increase the quality and depth of participation in the arts amongst key target groups that are currently under-represented (see guidelines for specific groups)

  • to provide artist(s) / arts organisation(s) with opportunities to develop their practice through high quality funded residency projects

Level of grants: £5,000 -  £50,000 for projects lasting from 6 months to 2 years

Performing Arts Programming Fund

 

Funding is available for the costs of presenting programmes of professional performances across the performing arts which can include music, dance, theatre, live, street, and circus arts.  This can include marketing and audience development costs although artists’ fees may be prioritised over these. Through this fund we aim to:

  • assist promoters, festivals and venues to programme professional work
  • encourage high quality, innovative programming
  • enable promoters to widen and enhance their programmes
  • increase audience numbers and develop new audiences for the arts

Level of grants: £1,000 – typical maximum of £50,000

Fast-track Professional development

This fund is available to support representatives of organisations (maximum two people from each organisation) in a variety of professional development activities.

Applicants should apply using the Individuals Application Form and Guidelines.

This is a joint programme supported by the Scottish Arts Council, SportScotland and the Big Lottery Fund, which offers funding to support not-for-profit groups, parish/town councils, schools and health bodies.
