Doreen Pryde - Head of Human Resources
Doreen graduated from Dundee University with a degree in English Literature and a post -graduate degree in Human Resources. She has been Head of Human Resources at the Scottish Arts Council since 2001. Doreen’s career has been firmly rooted in the public sector, by default rather than design. |
She has worked in several government agencies and organisations, covering a range of posts in administration before moving into HR. She has worked with the Manpower Services Commission as an Employment Adviser; with the Open University, managing study, summer-school and examination arrangements for remote and disabled students across Scotland; and with the Scottish Sports Council administering grants and managing grants systems.
In 1986 she joined the national agency for professional nursing standards, the National Board for Nursing, Midwifery and Health Visiting for Scotland as Head of Examinations, later being appointed to the role of HR Manager. |
