Ethical standards in public life
The Scottish Arts Council is a public body, affected by the Ethical Standards in Public Life (Scotland) Act 2000.
We are required to adopt a Code of Conduct based on the Model Code of Conduct for Members of Devolved Public Bodies as approved by the Scottish Parliament. The Code (see below) covers areas of individual responsibility such as:
- General Conduct
- Registration of Interests
- Declaration of Interests and
- Lobbying and Access to Members of Public Bodies
A copy of the Scottish Arts Council’s Code of Practice is given to all new members and each member must submit an update to their Declaration of Interest to the Council twice a year.
The Register of all members’ Declaration of Interest’s is available for inspection at the Scottish Arts Council’s offices and Council members and Senior Management’s declarations are available to view on the website (see below).
Download the Code and the Council member’s and Senior Management declarations below. If you require further advice or guidance on Ethical Standards in Public Life (Scotland) Act 2000, please contact Lynsey McLeod on 0131 226 6051.
