The Big Draw at the Talbot Rice Gallery
To launch the Talbot Rice Gallery's new exhibition and as part of the gallery's celebration of The Big Draw, the exhibiting artist Leonard McComb gave an exclusive drawing master class within the surroundings of his first solo show in Scotland since 1983.

The Big Draw Master Class took place on Saturday 16 October 2004 at the Talbot Rice Gallery and was a huge success. The classes were made up of a mixture of age groups, with some of the artists as young as six years old through to parents and grandparents.

McComb led the classes through experimentation and exploration of different materials and scales of drawing, with the final works being exhibited in the gallery alongside the Leonard McComb exhibition (shown from 16 October - 4 December 2004).
The Leonard McComb exhibition covers a period from the 1980s to date providing a fitting consideration of mature works from an artist who has not shown in Scotland since 1984. |
The exhibition is hung in series, with sensitive portraits and studies of the human figure forming the largest group of works. Also included are delicate flower and plant studies and recent landscapes.
The exhibition will travel to the Wolsey Art Gallery in Ipswich in 2005 and is accompanied by a full colour catalogue available from the Gallery priced £10.00.
