Map
Launched in Spring 2005, Map is the new international art magazine from Scotland. Since the beginning of the 1990s, artists in Scotland have moved to the forefront of the international contemporary art scene. A number of Scottish artists have built a powerful presence on the world art circuit and have been responsible for a succession of memorable exhibitions. Scotland now has a confident, vibrant and vocal visual arts community at home which connects to a strong international profile. Map is dedicated to engaging with artists at all stages of their careers and aims to focus on ideas which influence current practice both in Scotland and internationally.

| Maps describe boundaries and ownership. They plot destinations and show us the way. They follow terrain and stars and thoughts. Who has not been absorbed in a map? In an increasingly global, electronic culture, maps are more resonant than ever, their very specific logic and beauty often appropriated by artists and art events. |
| Published quarterly, Map hopes to stimulate debate and discussion and is designed to appeal to artists, art professionals and an informed general arts audience in Scotland and beyond.
Each issue of Map will contain features and profiles of leading artists, reviews of major exhibitions in Scotland and abroad, and book reviews. It will also report on new developments, events and news related to the visual arts.
