Konfuzion - a big summer art rammy

Last summer Peacock Visual Arts invited a range of artists to work with youth groups and participate in all-age events. Education work met contemporary art as they exhibited the ongoing creations of kids and youth workshops alongside works by collaborating artists, including:

  • Kenny Hunter
  • Wendy McMurdo
  • Kate Gray
  • David Blyth
  • Tommy Perman and many others.

Projects culminated in a series of Friday night events mixing artists, writers, talks, performance, screenings, beer, juice, etc!

Examples of Konfuzion Projects

Aberdeen-based artist David Blyth – shown as part of Venice Biennale project Zenomap - led a group of youths in an exciting project ‘Pigeon Post’. The result was the release of a flock of hand-made latex pigeons balloons filled with helium.

Kate Gray and a group of Princes Trust girls form The Foyer created a surreal video showing rabbits in fishing nets, horses in the theatre and other strange things to a drum solo soundtrack.

Kenny Hunter worked with kids from Multi Ethnic Aberdeen Ltd to create some sculptural masterpieces focusing on each child’s personal religious, mythological and cultural interests.
