'Còmhla' - North Uist International Artists Workshop
Taigh Chearsabhagh hosted Còmhla – a North Uist International Artists Workshop in September 2003. Half of the participating artists were international with the other half locally based. The workshop has taken place in 28 different countries, such as South Africa, Sri Lanka, Australia, China and Pakistan . In 2003, Scotland was given the opportunity to play host to the workshop in Newton House on the North West of North Uist.
Participants were encouraged to develop work they might not do in their own studios and work alongside other artists.

The two week North Uist workshop involved nineteen artists from Scotland and all over the world, The combination of the artists' cultural backgrounds and the workshop's environmental and cultural setting stimulated intense creative activity, exploration and the exchange of ideas.
