Art Fairs 2005

This year Doggerfisher, Sorcha Dallas, Transmission and Contemporary Editions Limited (CEL) will be representing Scottish artists in various international Art Fairs. 

Contemporary Editions Limited

Attending: Editions & Artists’ Book fair, New York, 3 - 6 November 2005

CEL is a collaboration between Edinburgh Printmakers, Dundee Contemporary Arts, Glasgow Print Studio and Peacock Visual Arts, Aberdeen.  CEL exists to promote the understanding and appreciation of contemporary printmaking in Scotland on a National and International level. 'Thinking About Open Source' screenprint by Rosalind Nashashibi; Courtesy: CEL CEL commissions, publishes and creates limited edition multiples with some of the best and most exiting artists currently living and working in Scotland today.  CEL energetically engages with new audiences by presenting and selling these innovative works of art at National and International Art Fairs.

Sorcha Dallas

Attending: Frieze Art Fair, London, 21-24 October 2005, Artissima, Turin, Italy, 11- 13 November 2005 and NADA (New Art Dealers Alliance), Miami, 1-4 December 2005

Sorcha Dallas represented Scottish artists at previous Art Fairs, attending The Rheinschau, Art Cologne, October 2004 and Miart, Milan Art Fair, May 2005.  This year Sorcha Dallas will be attending the Frize Art Fair in London, Artissima in Turin, and NADA in Miami.

Sorcha Dallas at The Rheinschau, Art Cologne: Photo: Sorcha Dallas Sorcha Dallas represents a number of artists including Henry Coombes, Kate Davis, Alex Frost, Sophie Macpherson, Alan Michael, Craig Mulholland, Alex Pollard, Gary Rough, Clare Stephenson and Michael Stumpf.

Doggerfisher

Attending: Frieze Art Fair, London 21- 24 October  

Doggerfisher opened in Edinburgh in May 2001. The gallery was established by Susanna Beaumont in the belief that Scotland’s capital should be home to an international and resolutely contemporary art gallery.

Doggerfisher has since established an international and national reputation for its vigorous and ambitious exhibitions programme. Key to their success is the fact that they exhibit, promote and work closely with some of the most innovative new generation and established artists from Scotland and beyond. Detail of 'Foul Play' installation by Claire Barclay; Photo: Ruth Clark Artists being featured at Frieze include Charles Avery, Claire Barclay, Nathan Coley, Graham Fagen, Moyna Flannigan, Franziska Furter, Ilana Halperin, Louise Hopkins, Janice McNab, Rosalind Nashashibi, Sally Osborn, Jonathan Owen, Lucy Skaer and Hanneline Visnes.  Since opening in 2001, Doggerfisher has participated at ARCO as part of the curated UK pavilion (01); Liste (02-04); Berlin Art Forum (01-02); Armory (04) and Frieze (02, 03, 05).

Transmission

Art Fairs attending: NADA (New Art Dealers Alliance), Miami, 1-4 December 2005 and The Armory Show - The International Fair of New Art 2006, New York, March 2006

Transmission is an artists' collective set up by graduates from Glasgow School of Art.  Transmission has been in operation since 1983, offering space an opportunities for artists to exhibit their work.  Transmission, while supporting local artists, also works on an international level.  David Sherry; Courtesy: Transmission

Jane Topping; Courtesy: Transmission Artists being featured in NADA include Nick Evans, Will Duke, Lorna MacIntyre, Craig Mulholland and Ciara Phillips.  Artists being featured in The Armoury Show include Charlie Hammond, Fiona Jardine, Owen Piper, David Sherry and Jane Topping.
