Starbucks Edinburgh Jazz and Blues Festival 2005

29 July – 7 August 2005

This year’s festival offers a huge range of jazz styles, from its earliest forms in New Orleans to the thriving creativity of today.  The Scottish jazz scene has established itself as a major international force in the last decade.  The festival reflects those who laid the foundations, the major names and the new groups taking us into the next ten years.

Highlights of the many performances across the city will include:

• Wallace Roney
• Jools Holland
• Salsa Celtica Café Orchestra
• Scottish National Jazz Orchestra
• Fionna Duncan Vocal Jazz Workshops

This year's festival will host a Swedish Jazz Showcase, featuring some of the most exciting music from the jazz scene in Europe.  The music ranges from creative adaptations of classical jazz, jazz with roots in Swedish folk music, swing and be-bop to excursions in groundbreaking cutting-edge experiments.

For more information about ticket prices and the festival programme, go to the Edinburgh Jazz and Blues festival website.
