Dr Dog

Moray Council's successful application to the Scottish Arts Council's Cultural Co-ordinators project Fund was based around an adaptation of 'Dr Dog' by Babette Cole.

The story was adapted to become a touring theatre production for primary schools. Surveys of arts provision across Moray schools identified issues of rural isolation as a problem in providing primary aged pupils with opportunities to experience live theatre performance. Dr Dog; Courtesy Moray Council The Dr Dog production, a touring production that looks at a range of health issues appropriate for primary pupils in P1 and P4, also offers pre-show workshops and teacher resources.

Another feature of the project is the way in which, through the teaching materials, topics such as folk medicine can open up routes for conversations and collaboration between older members of the community and primary aged children.
