BIG in Falkirk was established in 2000 to provide a dynamic and accessible millennium event to be located in Callendar Park, Falkirk. Since then, the Festival has run annually and has grown to become the single largest cultural event in the region, attracting audiences of over 70,000 per year. Last year’s festival attracted record audiences in excess of 100,000.
Now in its sixth year BIG in Falkirk offers a free cutting-edge entertainment programme with a variety of nationally and internationally renowned artistic performances including groundbreaking new work, alongside activities for children, young people and families.
The festival features a range of top quality performances at venues across the region as Falkirk and the surrounding areas become the focus for an exciting, eclectic mix of cultural entertainment. |
The festival kicks of with Beacon events (live music, dancing, market stalls, circus skills, street entertainment and local theatre performances) in Bo’ness, Denny, Grangemouth and Stenhousemuir, before heading to Callendar Park for the two-day highlight.
Last year’s highlights included Walk the Plank’s Tower of Light, The Sun Parade (Sri Lankan), and The Live Music Stage.

This year’s performances will include:
• Boilerhouse’s collaboration with the French company Metalovoice, in their production 3600” • A welcome return to te POOKa’s Circus workshops • Performances of Les Recontres de Boites, by French company Kumulus • A woodland trail/musical visual arts installation | as well as many other events and activities. This year’s live music stage features Heather Small, and Les McEwan's Legendary Bay City Rollers.

War of the Worlds by Fantastic Fireworks, and Simurgh by Plasticiens Volants (France) will provide the spectacular round up each night. |
