Award winning director Gregory Thomson joins the Tron Theatre during their 25th anniversary year, with anticipation:
'I'm delighted to be coming to the Tron at such an exciting time for Scottish theatre. The Tron is a place for theatre that is arresting, innovative and fun and I hope to continue with the practice of welcoming audiences to the best work whether made in Glasgow, Scotland or elsewhere'. |
In 2006, he won the Critics Awards for Theatre in Scotland award for Best Direction for Molly Sweeney at the Citizens’ Theatre. He was also a 2006 recipient of the coveted Young Vic’s Jerwood Director’s Award.

Peter Lawson, Chairman of the Tron, said: 'Gregory is a highly experienced director and I am delighted that he has agreed to take up the position. Our 25th anniversary celebrations mark a new chapter in the Tron’s history and I am confident that this appointment will enable us to continue providing our audiences with a high quality diverse programme of work.' |
Working extensively as a director in the UK and abroad, he most recently directed Henry VIII as part of the RSC Complete Works Festival.
Gregory was previously the Artistic Director of A and BC Theatre, founding the company in 1998. Under his leadership, A and BC created innovative theatre, re-visiting classical texts with the aim of making them more accessible, and combining vivid physical imagery and live original music to create truly vibrant performances.
