Kingussie, 7 - 9 November

Strathspè Away has successfully embedded itself as a unique event in the Scottish dance calendar. The weekend promises to be another 'highlight of the year' with the fiddle-driven dance group, The Bella MacNab Ceilidh band opening the festival. Tutors are making their way from all corners of the country as well as overseas;
Among the well-known names will be Jim Barry from Ireland, Maeve MacKinnon from Barra and Angus Nicolson from Skye as well as those from the 'Bellas', Mairi Campbell, John Sikorski and Sarah Hoy and, of course, Dannsa's own regulars.
Saturday night offers more dancing opportunities with the first-time performance of the Dannsa's Ceilidh Band, where you will have lots of opportunity to dance as well as enjoy the restful moments when Dannsa delight you with their footwork.
With ceilidhs, classes and concerts there will be plenty to enjoy! |

THE BELLA MACNAB CEILIDH BAND
A fresh, lively sound that swings from some of Scotland's top traditional musicians - with fiddles, guitar, piano and double bass. The Bellas have recorded for BBC Scotland's Take the Floor and indicidually have appeared on dozens of albums. They include a wide range of dancers in their programme, almost all Scottish, some of which have not seen the light of day on an ordinary dance floor for a couple of hundred years. Caller Dave Francis keeps dancers right, and keeps it clear and simple.
DANNSA'S CEIELIDH BAND
The Dannsa line-up will include dancers Caroline Reagh, Sandra Robertson and Frank McConnell with Fin Moore (pipes), Gabe MacVaish and Sarah Hoy (fiddles), Maeve McKinnon (Gaelic song) and Ewan MacPherson.
