About the Production
Scottish Ballet will be touring the critically acclaimed Sleeping Beauty across Scotland for the second year. Ashley Page's Sleeping Beauty is an unconventional take on the classic fairytale and its original ballet of the same name.

The story begins in a pastoral vision of the 1830s, where mortals mix with fairies in an enchanted forest within a magical kingdom. As the story unfolds, the audience is taken on a journey through the periods of Gothic, Victorian and post Second World War Europe. |
The classic themes of light and dark are prevalent throughout the ballet, ensuring a strong fairytale theme amongst the innovative choreography and costume designs.
