Off Kilter - A New Year Celebration of Dance in Scotland

A New Dance & Music Extravanganza this Hogmanay

Dance Base, Scotland's national centre for dance, Edinburgh Festival Theatre and Hogmanay's organisers Unique Events have collaborated to produce Off Kilter. Dance Base receives foundation funding from the Scottish Arts Council.

Off Kilter The new production of Off Kilter builds upon the show's previous success in 2004. Featuring live musicians, high profile choreographers and leading Scottish dancers, it is an enhanced programme of specially commissioned work brought together under the artistic direction of Morag Deyes, Artistic Director of Dance Base.

Morag says:

"Off Kilter is a riotous assembly of the great talent inspired by, and living in Scotland. This great show reflects the energy and originality in music and dance which is experiencing a genuine renaissance right now."

Off Kilter will combine traditional Highland, ballet, hip-hop, Indian classical and contemporary dance. Audience members will also get a chance to "Get Tae Dance" this Hogmanay. At the end of each performance 200 participants will be invited onstage to join the live musicians and dancers in a spectacular ceilidh. There can be no better way to see in the New Year and celebrate the culture of Scotland!
