British Dance Edition 2006
This year’s event is being held in Leeds and hosted by Yorkshire Dance. Four Scottish companies and artists: David Hughes Dance Co; Freshmess; Grace Surman and Tara Hodgson; have been invited to present work at this prestigious showcase event - displaying the diversity of Scotland’s thrilling and talented dancers and choreographers.

BDE 06 also includes works by established stars, such as Michael Clark, Russell Maliphant and Phoenix Dance Theatre. Emerging talents will be a main feature of the programme, with newcomers to British Dance Edition including Rosie Kay, Hofesh Shechter and Jane Mason. Rounding off proceedings will be Nigel Charnock's riotous Frank.
Replacing the traditional Trade Fair will be brand new Speed Dating sessions, and there will also be receptions, children's performances, Dance Films and fringe events.
| British Dance Edition is a networking opportunity between the dance world and promoters. However, some performances are open for members of the public. This is your chance to join top artistic directors and festival programmers and be among the first to see shows that will be appearing in venues over the next two years |
