Joyce hosts many ceilidhs and it is very obvious she is keen to promote 'We have One Scotland' with many cultures as all the dancers hurl and burl round the floor.

Since April this year almost 5000 participants have enjoyed the dance sessions with groups also preparing routines for demonstrations during various events.

Further to workshops being held in schools, culminating ceilidhs along with fundraising ceilidhs have been organised with children and adults being physically and socially involved. Workshops are delivered as a taster sessions, in a block, during Health & Fitness Programmes, and After School Clubs.

Project background

Following on from the success of STDT's Traditional Dance Development post in Glasgow 2004, it has been the aim of the Trust to see the success story be repeated throughout Scotland. After successfully lobbying Local Authority Arts and Education Departments, there have been Traditional Dance Artists posts in Aberdeen, Clackmannanshire and Fife since 2005.

The aim of the project is to foster and promote existing networks of traditional dance classess, events and activities and encourage new activities and performance opportunities.
