Artist of the month
'Graduating in 1995 with a first Class Honours degree in Jewellery from Edinburgh College of Art, under the tuition of Dorothy Hogg I received a start up Award from the Scottish Arts Council to help in the first years of business.

2000 saw the launch of ‘Teach Yourself Jewellery Making’ a book on basic jewellery techniques co-written with friend and fellow jeweller Ann Little, published by Hodder and Stoughton. My latest collection of jewellery has been developed with the help of a Creative Development Grant from The Scottish Arts Council.

The inspiration for this new work derives from vintage style, looking at old textile techniques such as crocheting, lace making and fabric buttons and incorporating these into jewellery with a modern approach. I love the use of mixed materials to make my jewellery. |

This new work includes silks and beautiful yarns combined with gold, Perspex, faceted semi-precious beads, mother-of-pearl, pearls and diamonds.

After many years of living and working from my home in Dunfermline, Davie my husband and two little girls Alice and Lucy will be moving to North Yorkshire, where hopefully the creative juices will still flow!'
