'I was a trained traditional Islamic artist before I was admitted into this traineeship.  The traineeship has given me a unique opportunity to learn many new things and to meet and share experience with other practising artists.  I am now learning stained glass and printmaking as well as pottery.  I am hoping to use the new knowledge alongside that which I have already acquired through my education and training in Pakistan. My aspiration is to work in mixed modes.  I have attended workshops, and meeting other artists in a professional setting has been helpful.  The traineeship is helping me to develop greater confidence about practice and this can only help.'

For more on Sadia's work, please see our feature on Project Ability's Regeneration exhibition.

Traineeships are supported by the National Lottery through the Scottish Arts Council as part of our cultural diversity implementation strategy.
