'During the course of my traineeship with GFT, I have worked on several projects which have given me both an insight and practical experience of arts management, marketing, development and programming work. These include planning, programming and overseeing a film festival for Black History month, working on GFT's access provisions for disabled people, and looking into marketing and development strategies such as seat sponsorship and friends' schemes. As I am very interested in pursuing a career in arts management, I have found the traineeship to be extremely fulfilling as I have been able to develop many new skills and gain invaluable experience through working with GFT. The traineeship has been instrumental(!) in helping me to gain my current post, as Fundraising Co-ordinator for the Scottish Chamber Orchestra, where I am responsible for looking after and locating new Individual and Corporate Patrons, as well as looking at sponsorship opportunities.' |
