Arts in Scotland

The Scottish Arts Council champions the arts for Scotland.

We are committed to funding and developing the arts in Scotland and play a lead role in promoting the value and importance of the arts to everyone.

We have key artform departments: visual arts; crafts; dance; drama; literature and music.

Each different artform within this area of the website has all sorts of information including:

An explanation of what the artform is about,
A monthly feature,
Stories about projects,
News and announcements,
Funding information,
Useful links,
Related publications,
How the Scottish Arts Council supports and develops the particular artform.

The Scottish Arts Council is also dedicated to the promotion and preservation of the Scots and Gaelic languages. Within these areas, you will find interesting features, information and news.

We hope you enjoy browsing through the different areas.

And don't forget to visit our Showcase to see and hear the exciting work that is going on in Scotland!
